Douglas Puterbaugh, MD

Dr. Douglas Puterbaugh received his Bachelor of Science from Xavier University where he was awarded the J. T. Clear Award for Excellence in Biologic Studies. Dr. Puterbaugh graduated from University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he received the Lemmon Award for Excellence in Family Practice Studies, and from the University Hospital Family Practice Program where he received the Kenneth A. Frederick Residency Award.

Dr. Puterbaugh is one of only a few physicians in Ohio who received recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance in both their Heart/Stroke Recognition Program and in the Diabetic Physician Recognition Program. The programs were developed in conjunction with the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association to recognize physicians who demonstrate that they provide high quality care for patients with diabetes and patients with cardiac conditions or who have had a stroke. This recognition has been awarded for three years as of February 2008.

Board Certified in Family Practice, Dr. Puterbaugh is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Ohio State Medical Board, the Ohio State Medical Association and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Puterbaugh served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Mercy Hospital Anderson for six years and was a Board Member of the Mercy St. Theresa Center for over nine years. He has been recognized as one of the Top Rated Doctors in the Tri-State Area by Cincinnati Magazine in 2003 and 2005 and is a Volunteer Assistant Professor in Family Medicine at the University of Cincinnati.
